Your Role
- You are part of the Operations & Service Group and report to the Herd Test Team Leader. This team is responsible for delivering
- on the promise we make to our customers. Operations & Service is made up of LIC’s Artificial Breeding, Diagnostics, Farms
- Management, Farm Wise, Field Assist, Heifer Management and Herd Testing teams.
- This role is responsible for providing an efficient and professional service to Herd Test clients by delivering and subsequently
- collecting equipment and milk samples for transfer to Depot/Weigh Station. As required, assist the customer with herd testing
- processes during milking, ensuring the Dairy Herd Testing standards are followed.
Your Key Focus
- Ensure LIC customers (external & internal) receive the level of service documented in the Herd Testing agreed standards and
specifications. - Follow the prescribed route provided by the scheduling system/Team Leader to set up/pick up on farm, ensuring that any
- variances are communicated to the Team Leader.
- Ensure you have all tray consignments made up and have the necessary equipment and documentation required to achieve
- the daily schedule and monitor throughout the day.
- Upload customer herd information onto the EZ Link hand held prior to shed set up. Download customer herd information when
- collecting samples and equipment.
- Set up sheds in a timely, accurate manner and feedback to the Team Leader any variances in equipment and set up times.
- Calibrate meters and ensure meter database is accurately maintained.
- Ensure your herd test truck is serviced and maintained and follow the Safe Driving and Vehicle
- policies at all times. All trucks
- have been fitted with a Navman. The Navman will collect and provide LIC with information about your driving including
- location/routes and a weekly Safety Analytics report for your truck which details instances of
- speeding and harsh cornering,
- breaking, turning, acceleration etc.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of how to use the EZ Link hand-held device and provide basic refresher training to Clients
- when required.
- Complete the Standard Practice form for all deliveries and collections.
- When carrying out Herd Testing Assist duties:
- Collect milk samples from each cow during milking
- Operate the EZ Link hand-held device, if requested by the customer
- Remove and clean the herd testing equipment
- Quality Management System principles adhered to.
