Client Support Worker-CCIS, Canada Full Time NEW

CCIS’s is searching for and is accepting applications from qualified job seekers for Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Case Worker position for the city of Brooks and surrounding communities. We are looking for a highly motivated, community-minded individual to provide services to newcomers, focusing on Temporary Foreign Workers in Southern Alberta. The candidate will work with an inclusive and intercultural philosophy providing support services to TFWs and their family members. Duties include delivering group information and orientation sessions, community connection, case management, support delivery and referrals to meet the basic essential needs of temporary workers, including managing databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, orientation, and referral services to temporary foreign workers and their families arriving in Brooks and Newell County.
• Conduct intake and needs assessments to identify client needs; and develop a customized action plan to support clients.
• Provide relevant services, like settlement, translation and interpretation, community connection and integration, system navigation, and emergency support.
• Establish relationships with various stakeholders and community partners to build network of support for clients.
• Provide relevant referrals to clients and conduct timely follow- ups to assess if the services delivered have been positive and according to the client’s needs.
• Organize conversation circles, and orientation sessions on issues that affect TFWs, e.g. providing education about their rights and their responsibility
• Transcribe and enter client information to the database for accurate record keeping, administering client feedback surveys, and submitting regular reports on program activities and deliverables.
• Perform and identify outreach opportunities and mechanisms in consulta􀀁on with support service providers, migrant workers, ethno-cultural groups, faith communities and union groups.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Degree and/or Diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Social Sciences, Education, or related fields. Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or similar field is an asset.
• Previous experience working with newcomer populations, especially Temporary Foreign Workers, is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of community programs, services, and government resources from the federal and the provincial government. Has a positive attitude, is flexible, reliable, proactive, accountable, and takes initiative.
• Experience in workshop facilitation and presentation skills, time management and interpersonal skills. Professional standards to work in a team or individually.
• Positive attitude to work with migrant population and service providers, be constructive, proactive, and manage conflict resolute
• Must have strong organizational skills and possess the ability to perform du􀀁es independently in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to communicate in an additional language(s) is considered an asset, with preference to Spanish.
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is required.
• This work may require working weekends or evenings
