Job Overview for a Laundry Attendant

Responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely cleaning, drying, folding, and distribution of laundry items in a professional setting.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

• Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years work experience hotel operations.

Your Duties

Washing

• To wash all washable linen, uniforms, guest and staff clothes as per standard set by the Laundry Manager.
•  To have a full knowledge and understanding of all washing machines for operation and maintenance.
•  To have a full knowledge and understanding of all chemical products and their proper and economical use.
• To have a full knowledge and understanding of different textiles and their proper care.
• To sort and check all linen, uniforms, guest and staff clothes before and after washing for stains, defects and take appropriate action.
• To report any found items to Laundry Manager or asst. Manager Laundry who will take appropriate action.
• To ensure sufficient supplies and chemicals are stock and recommend requisitions to Laundry Manager or asst. Manager Laundry.
• To prepare and maintain daily production report and hand them to Laundry Manager.
• To ensure cleanliness and orderliness of work area, machines and equipment’s.

Dry cleaning

• To dry clean all dry cleaning articles as per the standard set by the Laundry Manager.
• To have a full knowledge and understanding of all dry cleaning machines for operation and maintenance.
• To have a full knowledge and understanding of all chemical products and their proper and economical use.
• To have a full knowledge and understanding of different textiles and their proper care.
• To sort and check all linen, uniforms, guest and staff clothes before and after washing for stains, defects and take appropriate action.
• To report any found items to Laundry Manager or asst. Manager Laundry who will take appropriate action.

Skill Required

Good problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.
