The ideal candidate should possess a tertiary education with a focus on Environmental, Health & Safety, coupled with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience working on substantial construction sites. A comprehensive understanding of the latest environmental, health, and safety regulations is a prerequisite, as is a willingness to adapt to changing work schedules. Efficient management of on-site environmental, health and safety matters is essential, and candidates should have excellent communication and computer skills.

Job Description:

• Provide support to the project management team and the site Health & Safety lead. • Ensure compliance with the project and client’s Safety Management System.
• Adhere to relevant environmental, health, and safety statutory provisions and regulations.
• Follow the Client and Contracting PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
• Evaluate method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permits to work.
• Implement the project execution plan.
• Manage and maintain good safety practices.
• Conduct ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments and control hazardous substances.
• Ensure completion and registration of safety interventions.
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections, document the results, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain records of statutory inspections and make them available for project activities, tools, and plant.
• Take a proactive approach to project EHS requirements.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Ensure that project subcontractors adhere to project and group EHS policies and procedures.
• Coordinate, manage, and maintain Client and Contracting induction and training.
• Prepare and deliver toolbox talks as necessary.
• Assist in or conduct accident investigation reports in a timely manner and communicate them to the Clients and Contracting project management.
• Manage and maintain welfare and hygiene facilities.
• Attend daily activity briefings and whiteboard meetings.
• Maintain waste reduction and recycling programs in line with project policies and procedures.
