Job Role:

Primary Responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

1. Cost Estimation:
Our Quantity Surveyor plays a crucial role in forecasting the financial outlay of our construction projects. This involves scrutinizing project plans and specifications to accurately predict costs covering materials, labour, and any other relevant expenses.

2. Contract Management:
The role involves the comprehensive handling of construction contracts – from the negotiation and drafting stages to ensuring adherence to their terms.

3. Budget Oversight:
Tasked with financial stewardship, the Quantity Surveyor ensures the fiscal discipline of projects, keeping a tight rein on expenses while identifying areas for cost reduction.

4. Risk Analysis:
Proactively identifying and strategizing against potential project risks, particularly those related to safety, design, and construction, is a key part of the job.

5. Quality Assurance:
Upholding high standards, the Quantity Surveyor ensures that all aspects of a project meet set quality benchmarks, focusing on superior materials and craftsmanship.

6. Dispute Navigation:
The role may require stepping in to resolve disagreements that surface around contracts, financial overruns, or project delays.

7. Project Leadership:
The position often extends to a broader project management role, directing the efforts of contractors and subcontractors and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Skills & Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in construction and operational sectors.
•  Strong grounding in cost estimation, budget handling, and contract management.
•  Proven expertise in managing construction projects, including supervising team efforts.
•  Knowledgeable in risk management and quality assurance.
•  Well-versed in relevant building regulations and standards.
•  Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for precise cost and project analysis.
•  Meticulous, organized, and skilled in managing budgets and expenses.
•  Outstanding communication and team collaboration skills, crucial for effective contract negotiations and project coordination.
•  Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software and project management tools.
•  Solid understanding of construction materials, practices, and their influence on project costs and schedules.
•  Excellent mathematical proficiency for accurate quantity and cost calculations.
•  Eager to keep pace with evolving technologies and industry benchmarks.
