Rutgers University is currently looking to hire seasonal agricultural workers to join the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences in USAThe ideal candidates will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks including farm maintenance, equipment operation, and field work in order to support the research and operations of the farm. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the agricultural industry and contribute to the advancement of research and operations at Rutgers University. Key Responsibilities for Seasonal Agricultural Workers:
Planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops according to seasonal requirements.
Operating farm machinery and equipment, such as tractors, plows, and harvesters.
Irrigating crops and monitoring soil moisture levels.
Applying fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals as directed.
Assisting with general farm maintenance and repairs.
Following safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Assist with the maintenance of farm landscaping and non-research areas.
Maintain and repair farm equipment.
Perform field work including mowing, fall leaf clean up, soil sampling, and field preparation for winter.
Assist with snow removal of walkways and parking areas.
Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Eligibility Requirements for Seasonal Agricultural Workers:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Some experience in turf and/or equipment maintenance is desirable.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Availability for weekend work is a plus.
Previous experience in agriculture or farm work preferred but not required.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
