Responsibilities of Support Services Worker:

• Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting staff, patient, resident, public, clinical, and office areas in AHS facilities according to Provincial Standards, Guidelines, and Protocols.
• Providing high-level cleaning and disinfecting skills to ensure AHS facilities are safe and clean.
• Demonstrating respectfulness and good customer service skills while interacting with departments, staff, patients, residents, and the public.
• Working independently but assisting the Environmental Services (ES) team as needed to foster a safe and inclusive workplace.
• Following daily written routines and being flexible to reprioritize quickly when challenging situations arise.
• Performing floor maintenance duties using manual and power cleaning equipment.
• Ensuring that public, patient care, offices, and staff areas have adequate supplies.

Requirements for

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Physically capable of walking and/or standing for the duration of your shift and performing repetitive physical movements.
• General knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
• Ability to lift between 25-50 pounds on a regular basis and perform physical tasks such as bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and climbing ladders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a basic housekeeping program is an asset.
