Stall Cleaner Required at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, IA, USA Full Time

This includes emptying trash, cleaning toilets and sinks, disinfecting surfaces, and restocking supplies. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, have a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in their cleaning work. Responsibilities of Stall Cleaner:

• Bed and clean stalls in the Receiving Barn, Test Barn and Stakes Barn as needed.
• Maintain shed rows in Receiving Barn and Stakes Barn.
• Order, maintain and track bedding for the receiving barn, stakes barn, test barn, and outriders.
• Account for and maintain equipment including water hoses, wheelbarrows, pitchforks, rakes, etc.
• Work with Stall Superintendent to maintain and operate the Horse Exerciser as needed.
• Wash down stalls, walking ring, and winner’s circle.
• Fill washouts and paddock drains.
• Check paddock area rail and fence and make repairs as needed.
• Clean bird manure, grass clippings and mulch.
• Empty, wash, and refill pony water trough.
• Clean sand from under paddock bricks when uneven.
• Keep all equipment clean, well maintained, and set correctly.
• Assist in grounds keeping after all above duties are completed.

Requirements for Job:

• Knowledge of backside racing/maintenance procedures.
• Must have knowledge of PC computer-Windows, Excel, Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use rakes, shovels, and four-wheeler.
• Indoor and outdoor environment.
• Minimal travel on the backside required.
• Heavy physical demands.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.  Works around horses.
• Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shift, bend, and do overhead work.
